I have known and worked with Ms. Nathalie d’Amman (nee Porta) since 2007 in her capacity as Global Operations leader for Le Méridien a Starwood hotel Brand, during the initial years I was Vice Predient, Food & Beverage – Asia Pacific for Starwood Hotels. Nathalie and I had the pleasure and challenge of developing a number of key concepts together to position the brand as a leader in the market. Together we developed the hotels signature concept being « Latest Recipe » an interactive concept that works all day and truly is the signature of the hotel, the concept is global yet locally applicable and tailored to suit each market and country. In addition we developped speciality concepts such as Favola – a flexible Italian that works almost everywhere, changing from Milanese, to Venetian, finer dining to trattoria, flexible in all aspects and focused on great food. One of the more exciting concepts we developed was an extremely sexy Asian focused concept – Bamboo Chic, taking the best of coastal Chinese and Japanse cuisine, creating a bar and dining concept in one venue. At the same time as developing concept, Nathalie also re-branded the entire Le Méridien brand, a new lobby concept (Latitude) as well as focusing on touch points such as scent, food, music and the overall visual – the brand has become an iconic hotel brand for the trendsetter and cultured traveller, a true success story and mainly due to the creativity and diligence of Nathalie. Nathalie not only worked on le Méridien food and beverage with me, but on all initiatives that are forming the creation of an amazing industry icon. Partnering with some of the top and foremost companies, whether it be fashion, scent, beverages, coffee is where Nathalie excels, her contacts her « personal data base » is outstanding. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to work with such an inspiring leader, the brand was extremely fortunate to have an amazing individual like Nathalie who finds no issue too difficult, looks for solutions to every problem and at all times has the focus of creating a world leading brand. Organizing opening events, re-branding events, creating concepts around taste and working with talented international famed chefs are some of the new things Nathalie achieves. I cannot be more proud of having had the chance to work with Nathlaie at Starwood and now she is independent I look forward to growing our Professional relationship even further.
